It's like the old Indonesian proverb says: "Kebudayaan itu seperti kekompakan," or "Culture is like a harmonious unity." But how does that hold up when we're all connected to the internet and constantly sharing our thoughts and opinions?

Apakah Membuat Kita Lebih Dekat?​

Take the example of OK KID, a popular Indonesian band that's been making waves in the local music scene. Their music is a blend of traditional and modern elements, and they've managed to gain a massive following online. But what's interesting is how their fans interact with them - it's not just about streaming their songs or watching their music videos, but also about engaging with their content and sharing their own thoughts and opinions. It's like a big conversation, where everyone is contributing to the discussion and shaping the narrative around their music.


But does this kind of online engagement actually bring us closer to the culture we're consuming? Or is it just a facade, a way of pretending to be interested in something without really understanding its depth or significance? I'm not sure, but what I do know is that social media has changed the way we experience culture in Indonesia, and it's not always easy to tell what's real and what's not.

Menghadapi Kebudayaan di Era Media Sosial​

As someone who's grown up with social media, I've always been fascinated by the way it can amplify certain voices and ideas while silencing others. In Indonesia, where freedom of expression is often a contentious issue, social media can be a powerful tool for spreading information and challenging the status quo. But it can also be used to spread hate and intolerance, which is why it's so important for us to be critical of the content we consume and share online.


I remember when I was younger, my parents would always tell me to be careful about what I shared online, because once it's out there, it's hard to take back. And they were right - social media has a way of making things go viral, whether we like it or not. So how do we navigate this complex landscape, where cultural expression and online expression collide? It's a question that's been on my mind a lot lately, and one that I'm still trying to figure out.

√ Mencari Konten yang Bermakna​

Saya pikir, ketika kita menggunakan media sosial untuk mengekspresikan budaya kita, kita harus berhati-hati tentang konten yang kita sajikan. Banyak sekali konten yang tidak memiliki nilai atau makna sama sekali, bahkan bisa jadi tidak bermanfaat bagi orang lain. Itu artinya, kita harus berusaha untuk membuat konten yang bermakna, yang bisa memberikan informasi, edukasi, atau bahkan hiburan yang bermanfaat.

√ Membuat Konten yang Interaktif​

Bagi saya, konten yang berinteraksi dengan audiens lebih menarik daripada konten yang tidak. Ketika kita membuat konten yang bisa memancing interaksi, seperti menggunakan hashtag atau bertanya-tanya, kita bisa meningkatkan kesadaran tentang budaya kita dan juga membuat audiens lebih aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Contohnya, kita bisa membuat hashtag yang terkait dengan budaya kita dan meminta audiens untuk membagikan foto atau cerita tentang budaya tersebut.

√ Menggunakan Media yang Tepat​

Saya juga berpikir bahwa menggunakan media yang tepat sangat penting dalam mengekspresikan budaya kita melalui media sosial. Misalnya, jika kita ingin membagikan foto atau video tentang budaya kita, kita harus memilih platform yang tepat, seperti Instagram atau YouTube. Namun, jika kita ingin membagikan informasi atau artikel, platform seperti Twitter atau Facebook mungkin lebih tepat.

Dalam kesimpulan, saya ingin mengatakan bahwa mengekspresikan budaya kita melalui media sosial harus dilakukan dengan bijak.
