Do adult banner ads still bring traffic today?

I’ve been wondering about this lately… do adult banner ads still work, or are people just ignoring them now?

When I first tried banners in this space, I didn’t expect much. Most users seem used to ads, so I thought banners would just get skipped. And to be fair, my early tests didn’t prove me wrong. I used some basic designs, broad targeting, and hoped for clicks. The traffic came in, but conversions were pretty disappointing.

Then I spent some time reading about how others approach Adult banner ads, and it made me rethink a few things. Not anything groundbreaking, just small shifts in how I was testing and setting things up.

Instead of using flashy or over-designed creatives, I tried keeping things simple. More natural images, less text, and something that didn’t scream “ad” right away. That alone improved click rates a bit.

I also started paying more attention to placements. Some sites brought in traffic that looked active but didn’t convert at all, while others, even with lower volume, performed better. It took a bit of testing to figure that out, and honestly, a few wasted budgets too.

Another thing I noticed is that timing and targeting matter more than I thought. Even small tweaks, like adjusting device targeting or narrowing down locations, made a difference over time.

I wouldn’t say adult banner ads are the strongest traffic source out there, but they’re definitely not useless. They just seem to need a bit more patience and testing compared to other formats.

If you’re thinking about trying them, I’d say keep it simple and test in small steps. That made it easier for me to understand what works instead of guessing blindly.
